Goalie Schienen Bauer Reflex RX 8
Being that the classification of a hybrid style goalie is so broad, Bauer has designed the RX8 leg pads with several adjustment features to customize the fit of these pads and allow them to accommodate anyones style of play. Starting with the adjustment features at the top of the leg pads, you first see that the thigh guard is easily removed if you prefer to play without it. Also at the top of the pad is the leather straps at the knee and thigh which can both be removed if you prefer to have a looser fit near the top of the pad. Going into the knee you will find Bauer's AKL, or Adjustable Knee Lock, which can be adjusted vertically or horizontally to provide a perfect landing zone for any goalie. The AKL can also simply be removed if you prefer to have a looser fit at the knee or separate knee protectors. You can also adjust the outer layer of the knee stack to be loose and provide more coverage or snug and provide a traditional look and feel.
Going lower on the pad to the calf wrap there are two adjustment features here. One is the calf wedge which allows you to adjust how much the inner flap comes off the leg pad. You can make it stick out to provide more 5-hole coverage or even remove it for a more traditional feel. The other feature in the calf wrap is the ability to adjust how wide the leg channel is with simple velcro straps, or you can also remove the calf wrap to give a looser fit in the calf.
